LESSONS
Before you book, I offer a one-off, no strings attached taster lesson so we can get to know each other and try some piano basics.
Lessons are then booked in termly blocks, for 30 mins each, and take place weekly at my home in Cheltenham.
Lessons are priced at £20.00 per half hour. Payment is taken via bank transfer before each school term.
FAQ
What age can my child begin piano lessons with you?
My lower age limit is 5 years old as this is usually when finger dexterity and heightened focus begin to develop. There are plenty of toddler music classes in the area if you’d like to get a head-start!
Do we need a piano before starting lessons?
It won’t be possible to progress without at least a keyboard at home in the initial stages. Much of what I teach initially is pattern-based visual learning, and this needs to be supported at home. When a student reaches Grade 1 level this is when a full-size piano with weighted keys (acoustic or digital) would be required.
How often do lessons take place?
As with any new skill, learning is easiest when it’s reinforced regularly, so lessons are weekly. We follow the GCC academic calendar and break for all school holidays.
Do you teach adults?
I don’t teach adults (18+) at the moment, but I’d be happy to recommend some great teachers in the area who offer lessons for adults – just ask!
As well as teaching privately, I am also part of the Cotswold Piano Studio – a collective of teachers who offer lessons in schools across the Cotswolds.
From September we will have 5 fantastic teachers working across 6 schools and we are continuing to grow! I currently teach in schools in Bledington, Chedworth and Cold Aston.
