I’m Eilidh Best and I’m a piano teacher based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

I specialise in teaching children and young people, ensuring lessons are fun, relaxed and tailored to each pupil.

My central aim as a teacher is to create a setting that instils a lifelong love of music. We’ll learn technique and grow in skill, perhaps sitting some exams along the way – but all with the aim of enjoying the piano and having fun making music.

Experienced

As well as extensive experience teaching music in group settings and piano one-to-one, I was employed as a youth worker for several years working with young people aged 11-18. I’ve also worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school supporting children with additional needs and I’ve helped to teach music classes for pre-schoolers.

Qualified

I hold a first-class Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Glasgow, all eight ABRSM piano grades (plus Grade 5 Theory) and an ARSM diploma with distinction from ABRSM.

Passionate

I find the greatest joy in life from making music, playing the piano and helping others to learn. Combining these as a piano teacher is my dream job! I am committed to making sure this joy comes across in my teaching and helping to instil this same joy in every pupil.

I am Enhanced DBS certified through EPTA (European Piano Teacher’s Association). I abide by ISM (Independent Society of Musicians) Code of Practice as well as Safeguarding and Child Protection policies, and am represented through liability and legal insurance as a member.
